All Star Season 2008

Players:

2. Eligibility
A player must play in not less than 50% of the games in the league's intramural game schedule in order to be eligible for selection to the league's All-Star Teams.
1. High School Division Eligibility shall be per ASA pick-up player eligibility rules, as published in the ASA Official Rules of Softball.
A player must be able to commit to play in all scheduled tournament games. If a player is going to miss more than one tournament, she will be dropped form the team and another player may be pulled up to take her place.
A player cannot participate on a team other than her own recreation league team after March 31, 2008. A player CAN NOT participate with any other league All-Star or Travel-Type team, including ASA and non-ASA after March 31, 2008. (“Participation” shall be defined as a player taking in any practice, practice game(s), scheduled game(s) or tournament(s). A single try-out is not participation; however, multiple (two or more) try-outs are deemed as “participation”.)


3. Registration Forms
Registration forms and Parent Commitment Letter will be available from your coach after March 29, 2008 (also available at www.mvgsa.com). The registration and Parent Commitment Letter must be completed and forwarded to the Player Agent on May 4, 2008 at tryouts.

Coaches:

2. Eligibility
All-Star coaches shall be approved by the League Board of Directors.
All Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches, wishing to be considered for the All-Star Manager position, for both Black and Teal ALL-STAR Team, MUST BE ACE CERTIFIED.
The candidates for the All-Star Manager position must return the All Star Coaches Application to the Divisional VP by April 12, 2008.
The All-Star coach for each team shall be voted on by the head coaches and the number one (1) assistant coach (selected by the head coach) within their division.
The vote shall be done by secret ballot to be turned in immediately prior to the All-Star team vote.
The results of the Coach vote shall be announced immediately prior to the results of the team vote being announced. In the event of a tie, the coaches shall re-vote until a coach has been selected.


3. Commitment
All coaches made a commitment at the time of their interview that they would be willing to watch/scout other teams during the season to select the best possible players for the All Star teams.
All coaches need to be able to commit to a heavy schedule of practices (up to 6 per week) and games.

2. Eligibility
It is of utmost importance that you, as the parent, understand that if your child is selected as an MVGSA All-Star Player, it DOES NOT guarantee your child playing time during Championship Play in any ASA Tournament(s), to include ASA District, State and National Tournaments ONLY. The All-Star Playing Rule, as it pertains to playing time (Each player shall play a minimum of one (1) defensive inning, within the first four (4) innings), shall apply and be in full force and effect, during all other tournaments.

3. Commitment:
A parent from each player must sign and agree to the “Parent Commitment Letter.”
A parent from each player must work two (2) hours, at the MVGSA Summer Bash.
A parent from each player is responsible for making sure that their child fulfils the commitment to attend all practices and games.

4. Understanding:
